So, how many offbeat strategies, tactics or just crazy ideas have you come across,
when searching for the real meaning of Search Engine Optimization?
It’s like everyone’s trying to plug into your brain, confusing the bejesus out of you.
Optimizing your website for the search results really doesn’t have to be that complicated.
Create compelling content that engages with real humans while educating, being humorous and interesting is true, raw, optimizing for people or S.E.M for short.
That’s it, just be you…
There are a few technical learning curves with elements like:
Tags-Just another way to categorize your website.
- Back Links-Quality always trumps Quantity.
- Alt Text-techy stuff for images
- S.E.O.-It’s not about the keyword, it’s the answer you give for the question they are searching for.
There are many others, but today I am going to take a complete 100% human approach, leaving the technical element out for now.
These are long term results but a short time to get there. Thanks, Burt
A lot of so-called S.E.O. experts, use dirty little tricks to cheat Google out of the top spot of rankings all the time.
Back linking scams or crazy key rich anchor texts, just don’t work anymore, not since the Penguin, Panda or Hummingbird updates.
I only focus on long-term solutions, so let’s look into what actually works.
Quality Content That Converts
You really don’t have to be a complete writing junky here to make this process easy and fun as I found out.
Since I have started my website, something dawned on me, I enjoy content creation.
Bringing my insights and ideas on center stage, helping people find the answers they are searching for, it’s really been a pleasure.
Three quick tips that you can store away in your pockets, cause you’re going to need these:
- Write like you talk-Be yourself and throw your persona into the mix.
- Write like your heart bleeds it– Know your subject or learn to understand the business.
- Just Keep on Writing- Writing is a practice so you’re always learning every time you create something.
I am going to let Vince Lombardi share his insight on the matter,
The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.

Isn’t that the truth?
You have to work at it.
Or hire someone that can write and let him work at it but someone needs to write solid useful information that gives the visitor what they need.
The most relevant solution to the question or query that is being searched for or simply put, a search engine.
On the technical side of this, yes keywords, tags, proper headers and format will definitely help with rankings.
What’s the sense of ranking if people are not interested in what you are saying?
Theme Your Site With Flavor
As you start generating and becoming a reliable source of information, you start using words and terms related to your product or service in that particular niche.
These similar words with similar meaning, known to Google as (Latent Semantic Indexing) known to humans as synonyms, encourages you to theme your website.
Don’t just keep using the same dull words over and over again, Google is on the lookout for too much keyword craziness.
Add crafty or savvy phrases to the mix and be creative with your personal touch.
Also, helps by adding value and writing skills to your arsenal.
Write like you talk, just keep writing….
Also, you become more of an expert at your craft, building that Authority and Integrity with your brand, your business.
What is the TRUE currency online as of today and forever in a day?
You got it …TRUST…
Build a solid foundation of informative content which builds authority and depth, to your site.
Trust comes in time while you make connections and friends, trust comes with comfort.
If you’re not focusing on building these insanely important traits, then you are going to crash and burn online, I promise.
On-Site Navigation That’s Better Than Any GPS
Do You know that, on average, people only give a website a few seconds to catch their attention or they’re gone?
You have one hell of a first impression to make in such a short time.
If I go to a website and the navigation of that particular site is screwy, just sending me to unrelated info, junk about whatever, I immediately know this site isn’t serious about anything.
How many of you waste no time leaving, after witnessing that eye soar of a site?
Design and on-site navigation, without all the ‘techie” stuff, gives you a first look at what the person running the show is all about.
It doesn’t have to be a perfect looking site but it does have to make sense, add value, or have a soul.
Here’s some quick advice on making website eye candy for visitors:
Use sub-headings and bullet points to break up content to be scanned. Its tuff reading a glob of content
Keep sentences and paragraphs short, people and IPhones like this.
One main photo for the website, I can recognize one face, not three or four different ones…
Images and video are a MUST- helps with time-on-site, but really shows brand, personality…
Fresh content- Make sure content is republished after while, I hate me some old useless articles
Build Your Own Dignity
When I first started perusing a career in Digital Media, I was strictly focusing on fast times and even faster profits.
There were so many affiliates and network programs at my disposal, I tried to sign up to them all at once.
I wanted to show the world my offers, my products, my services, in my own unique way but was dumbfounded on how or where to start.
You start where all your dreams online started. Question, what is the business or company you wanted to build, before you get run over by the tidal wave of junk available online?
Stick to it, focus on how to build depth behind that idea or product.
Write down every single idea, phrase thought that comes to mind about your business.
Learn how to build your website, connect all your social media outlets so people can share the insights you have about that particular topic.
Add images and videos to better personalize your company with the audience it attracts.
S.E.O. at its core is, creating content for people first, search engines second.
My mission has never changed I will help you create the kind of audience focused presence online that helps you reach your business goals…
You will learn that success online is not only simple and easy, but fun.
