For the beginners, journeyman or even some hardcore blogging junkies, there is some miss conceptions on what does content marketing really stand for.
What makes it bleed all over itself…
Within the digital marketing world, we as people, tend to make things a whole lot more difficult for ourselves than we need too.
I know this is brought on by all the misleading hype or these fools shouting,
You don’t need unique content, a virtual home or even a presence online to succeed.
Theses individuals are clowns, liars, and swindlers, that are ONLY after the all mighty dollar, what’s left of it.
You would be insane to accommodate.
Won’t these fools just go hang out with Milli Vanilli.
You know, faking it till you get caught, then falling off the horizon as a result.
Content marketing is basically this,
A marketing approach that creates useful and relevant content that draws, engages, and educates people, with the objective of gaining trust and authority with your brand’s voice.
Just write useful and enjoyable information about your products and services, creating a community feel, instead of a “business as usual” feel.
Let the customers, visitors, or friends and family sell themselves on your content, your word, authority and trust you built with the message.
Use A Human Voice
Content is literally going to be YOUR bloodline or lifeline to the targeted audience that it speaks to.
Your business can’t function successfully without content online, period. Reality tells me this.
Yes, we call this “work” and yes it will take effort, patience and time to build a solid foundation of information for your business virtually.
It doesn’t have to be the crazy professional literature on content marketing that loses our interest with every word it speaks.
Not even the crazy spinning article software that pukes out cyber manure all over the place.
Let’s look at some stats and facts that will show us that our “own voice” is the force behind the traffic it converts:
70% of customers say content marketing makes them FEEL CLOSER to the business writing it.
60% of customers, feel positive about a company after reading some CUSTOM content on a website.
One of the top 3 reasons why individuals follow brands on social media is the words they create.(Content+)
90% of customers find the creative content helpful and 78% believe that organizations providing useful content are interested in building good relationships with them.(TMG Custom Media)
Create from your own perspective, with your own words, with your own bloody fingertips from starting over like I do, all the time.
Just write and create.
You will get better over time, this is what I have learned.
The more value, personality, you can put in your words, the more people appreciate your work and business.
This is called building trust, which is earned by authority behind a voice.
Spirit Within Words
Crafty content creations do take some research, endurance, and patience to write helpful information to folks when practically all the info they need is right behind searching keywords on Google.
I heard a story one successful internet marketing consultant said to a client one day.
So, if I can pretty much find all your content and materials on search engines, why would I pay you for information, if its available for free?
People don’t pay me for information. They pay me for “organized” information and ask for help to establish the same for their business needs.
We are not trying to reinvent the wheel, the internet has already done that for us.
Focus on being yourself and create for people, don’t create for personal gains or search engine results.
There are way too many individuals practicing spam writing or posting articles to please their business needs only, sell, sell, sell is what they are being taught.
Answer the question or query that the visitor came to your website for more times than most, you will have a believer.
Speak from the human heart God gave us, adding value and spirit on top…this is true marketing.
Personal Favorites Of Content Marketing
I wanted to come up with some other factors that I personally think helps content become savvy and sexy.
Yes, compelling content converts into quality subscribers, BUT do you think the smoothness and organization of that content is just as important?
I came up with these simple little features to improve the user experiences if the words need help being eye candy.
Indulge the Laziness
80% of visitors scan content on websites these days so we have to feed this craving people have for instant answers by adding:
Flicks that show more of your personal insights, not some corporate multimedia that dilutes the message.
BULLET AND NUMBER POINTS
This creates a feeding frenzy of benefits and more benefits for products and services. Also breaks up content or scannable..
Adds so much I don’t have enough space. Quickly here’s two: time on site and really personalizes your brand, conversation rates through the roof if used wisely.
Are crafty little ways to show off stats and facts about the industry you surround yourself in.
SHARING IS CARING
Let the masses help with distributing your work, by mingling with others and sharing if real humans.
Navigation Of Content
The look and feel of the content should be as good as the writing itself.
We already made it scannable in the last section, now let’s make it tech sexy.
You ever notice, finding some amazing reads but after clicking on some links to find out more, you get sent back to Google or somewhere else.
404 error, 301 error, G.Bush was an error (I had to throw that in there), don’t care error.
This really vacuums the mood right out of the visitors, missing out on possible leads and conversions.
Make sure all links work properly before posting, even all links for your website for that matter.
Just makes sense for smoothness.
Have pages interlinked with other related pieces on site, giving value and looking professional at the same time?
Keep outbound links to a minimal and relevant.
If I wanted so much other people info, I will visit their site, not yours.
Keep them on site….
On-site categories are for MAIN TOPICS that you discuss and tags are SUB-TOPICS which break down content even further, no more, no less.
Content creation is crucial for surviving the information generation we live in these days.
The reality is saying compelling content will survive.
Real words with real answers will prevail.
Write like you talk, in the most humors, professional, savvy, stylish way you can mustard up, write like you walk.
Do you know why we sit here and preach, scream or inform you on why creating quality content is the force behind surviving online?
The quality of the subscriber or visitor that will continually trust and purchase from you is the ones that believe you with the authority of your voice.
This is true marketing with words…
